If Destroyed Still True, 2025 is a five-part video work, documenting a series of obsessive visits to a graffitied underpass in East Newcastle. The words “here today”, with an arrow pointing down, are tagged onto one of the walls: a forebear of some kind of inevitable punchline, awaiting being “gone tomorrow”. For the exhibition, There is something where there should be nothing; there is nothing where there should be something, the looped imagery was littered across a metal bench on mobile phones, the devices on which the videos were originally captured, putting possible futures in direct dialogue with present spaces and times.
